The Masked Singer: Mask on Face off

On paper, The Masked Singer is just a celeb singing competition, An imported format from South Korea. But after watching the first episode, I have fully behind this idea of mixing singing competition and mystery/ who dun it.

The Basic idea of the show is that each celebrity participating in the show is hidden costume. Their voice distorted anytime they are not singing.

Each singer is paired up with another, and after they have both sung the studio audience picks who was the best, and they go through to the next episode. At the end of each episode the four panellists comedian Ken Jong, Singer Nicole Scherzinger, Singer Robin Thicke and Actress Jenny McCarthy have to pick one of the unsuccessful singers to go home and there identity is reviled. Before each celeb sings a short video package is shown that has clues as to who the celebrity.

The best part of this show is that for days after watching it I was still trying to work out who they were and that is what makes for a great a show.

60 Days In Jail: Season 5 Episode 1

After missing all of season 3 and four but with this set in a new jail I should be ok. This show one of the few shows of it's kind that I enjoyed and with the new season just starting I was happy to get back into it.

The first episode is just a basic introduction of the participating civilians, their backgrounds and why they want to be part of this experiment. Like I said having missed two seasons I can see they have jumped up to another level regarding the type of prison they go to as I can't see them using a prison where an officer was stabbed numerous times for the first two seasons. Also, I like that they let most of the participants meet and get to know each other before entering the prison. Like a lot of shows like this, it is hard to tell how well the season will play out from the first episode of a season.

Gold Rush: The Devil's Deadline

With the past few weeks of TV being up in the air with it being Christmas it's not surprising that as shows start to come back, I chose to watch the latest episode of Gold Rush as it's an easy watch so I can do other things at the same time.

Gold Rush is a show I discovered late into its early life and spent a few days catching up and then kept up to date with subsequent seasons and look forward to seeing the miners venture out on the hunt for gold in Alaska.

Hawaii Five-o: Hala I Ke Ala O'i'ole Mai

This weeks episode was a great two story episode and was told brilliantly, and one story did not overshadow the other. It also helped conclued the story started in the previous episode before it's winter break.

The main story of the episode was to find and deal with the person who ordered the hit on the group. This took them off the island and to a forgen land. The other story involved a pair of storage locker bidders discover a bag of human bones in a locker they had just won at auction but after phoning a distant friend they were killed and the bones taken.

It's nice to see a show what has lasted this long still look and feel fresh and not stale or played out even with 2 of the main cast leaving the show.

I can't wait to see where it goes in the future.

Once again thank you for coming back and getting to the bottom of the page. We hope to see you back here same time next week.
