Season 1 Episode 7
Sorry for this weeks update being a few days late (Must try harder).
Before I start with what I have been watching here are two new show's that started on Monday that I am adding to my watch list.
Good Girls (NBC)
Three suburban mothers suddenly find themselves in desperate circumstances and decide to stop playing it safe and risk everything to take their power back.
Living Biblically (CBS)
An adaptation of the non-fiction book by A.J. Jacobs, in which a man tries to live in accordance with the Bible's teachings as close as possible.
And now here are the shows I have been watching
Nashville (CMT)
As we near the end of the final season of Nashville I can't wait to see how they choose to bring this great show to a close, As currently they have a few important storylines going on at the same time. From Juliet away in what could be a cult, Will addicted to steroids and Deacon stating a new relationship that come's with a lot of baggage. As well has Scarlett finding a connection with a member of a help centre with a troubled past.
The reason I believe this show as done so well even with a change in networks is that it doesn't feel like the songs are forced in or that a story was changed in order to fit a song. it's a shame the show is coming to an end but at least they have given them enough time to bring it to a nice conclusion.
Gold Rush (Discovery)
As we start to come to the end of this season of gold rush and the departure of Todd Homan we can start to get an idea of how the show will look next season.
With Tony still trying to get this second dredge apart and moved to it's new location in order to start gold mining with it, And Parker now a proper land owner and having the ability to mine without having to pay out royalties to anyone next season is looking to be a good one even if they don't find a replacement for Todd which could be his son Hunter and I believe this could make for a great way to continue the show without Todd.
Kevin (probably) Saves The World (ABC)
As a show idea this is an original and has a story that can be told over multiple seasons as each season can be about looking for one of the 36 righteous souls and can take the show to different locations around the world which will help sell the show around the world. After last week episode where we finally found the first of the righteous the show as started to find it's feet with Kevin starting to understand what he is supposed to be doing.
Another good plot point is that Yvonne has accidentally shown herself to Kevin's friend Tyler and as make Tyler fall in love with her and is now trying to get back in contact with her.
Celebrity Big Brother (CBS)
Yes I am still watching this, And yes I am still enjoying it. What I love about Big Brother in the US is that they saw a show doing well in other country's and thought let's give this show a try over here, but after 1 season thought well that was good but we need to change a lot of the format to make it better. Also they saw that the UK had been doing a celebrity version of big brother for a number of years and finally thought why don't we try and do that and like most celebrity show's people always start guessing who might be a contestant but booking for a show like Big Brother is a hard job as the celebs will be filmed all the time, But if this show is successful and does not take the micky out of the contestant than the next season they can try and get bigger and more famous celebs and can then be sold around the world.
Last Week Tonight With John Oliver (HBO)
All is right again with the world as John Oliver is back on my TV each week taking the big news stories and putting a comedy spin on them.
This is one of the top shows I watch each week, The fact at a comedian from England had to travel over the pond to America to create some of the most important television of the last 10 years.
The format has a great structure with the first 10 or so minutes dedicated to the weeks news then the rest of the show is dedicated to a singular topic. The detail they go into to show all side's of a topic is great, most weeks I go away wanting to know more about a subject.
This weeks episode was Donald Trump heavy with the main topic about how trump is seen around to world and also how he see's the rest of the world. I can't wait to see what this season holds
