Thank you for coming back and I hope to see you again next week.
Let's go

New show's I have added to my watch list starting this week

Champions.jpg

Champions (NBC) (8th March)

Vince, a charismatic gym owner with no ambition lives with his younger brother Matthew, a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when the teenage son of Vince is dropped off on their doorstep by Priya, one of his old high school flings.

What have I been watching find out below.

The Voice (NBC)

Voice, The chair.jpg

The Voice one of the best Vocal competition show formats currently running. One of the reasons for this is that they can entice big name star's to be coach's on the show, And they can do this by only having a small number of live shows and only film the rest of the show on a couple of days. The blind auditions only take a few days to film and can then be stretched and shown over a few weeks of show's and the same can be said for the battle rounds and the knockouts, so for a weeks worth of filming you can have a few months of shows ready. you would then only need the coach's for a month for the live shows which would not effect there own schedule. This is also why they can have 2 seasons a year.

This seasons they have tried to spice up the blind audition round's by adding a block button which allows a coach the ability too block a fellow coach from adding an artist to their team, I like this idea as it means that the coach's feel they have the best teams going into the battle round's but the fact they only have one block is not enough for me. They get 1 steal in the knockout round and 2 steals in the battle round's makes me think that have 3 block's 1 for each of the other coach's would make more sense. This would allow there to be more block's used per episode then there is currently.

Scorpion.jpg

Scorpion (CBS)

This weeks episode of scorpion was great as we got to see the roles reversed and the guy's started to lose their geniuses.
As they had to prevent the creation of a possible black hole. the fun came from this as Paige had to dumb down the science so they could understand it and also see what it's like for Paige when the guys are discussing and idea and she does not understand it.

The overall storylines are progressing along at a nice pace, Not to slow that you forget about them and also not to fast that you feel they will be done with before the end of the season.

This is one of the show's that when it stated could have only lasted one season with the reliance one big set pieces and action shot's but they have managed to keep they side of the show to only a small number of episodes per season, so when they do happen they feel important and dangerous.

Middle, The 1.jpg

The Middle (ABC)

As regular reader's will know I have a few show's every day they are my go to show's that I would watch first, this can happen for a number of reasons and one of them is because it's guaranteed to make me smile and The Middle is definitely one of them.

This weeks episode used everybody perfectly, from Sue and Frankie celebrating Sue's 21st birthday by having Frankie try and teach Sue how to be responsible with alcohol (she dose not), to Axl having to give a speech at this friend Kenny's wedding with a couple of hundred guest's which turn's out to be only watching it from a live stream, And the best part of this weeks episode was the story of Mike having to take Brick to a Planet Nowhere convention and unwilling to spend money on souvenirs he believes are over prices like when Brick asks for fries and a drink in a limited edition cup what cost's $20 for him just to throw the fries at the wall and not eat them. So Brick keep texting Frankie. This storyline/Joke is concluded in the best way possible by having Brick come into the living room covered head to toe in Colt's merchandise from hat's, football jerseys and drinking cup's which make's Mike take Brick back to the convention and get what ever he want's.

survivor Ghost Island.jpg

Survivor: Ghost Island (CBS)

You can't have a show that has been running as long as survivor without a few players make critical mistakes in the game that cost them the million dollar prize. So this season they are bringing back all the cursed item's that cost previous player in this seasons theme Ghost Island.

After watching the first 2 hour season premiere I can see this being a great way of reminding viewers of what had happened in previous seasons, From players being voted out with an immunity idol in there possession to players telling the wrong person they have a special advantage.

In the first hour of this week episode Jacob was the first contestant sent to ghost island and had the chance to win the legacy advantage from Survivor: Game changers or lose this vote at the next tribal council. The fun game play element to this seasons twist is deciding if you try and win the advantage and if you do win what do you tell the other players on your arrival back at camp.

The Big Bang Theory 1.jpg

The Big Bang Theory (CBS)

Still the biggest show on TV this week's Big Bang Theory helped move the storylines along with Bernadette going to labour and he rest of the cast trying to help her and Howard decide on a name for the baby after she wanted to name it after her dad and Howard dose not.

After starting contraction's everybody took it in turns to help pass the time each trying hard but ultimately failing it was left to Sheldon to help pass the time with what was described as the most complicated board game ever what she does not want to play which lead's to him inviting everyone back as it's best with more players.

In the end they agree on the name Neil, Michael Wolowitz.
Neil after Howard's favourite people Neil Armstrong and also Neil Diamond and Michael after Bernadette 's father.

With a show into it's 11th season it still surprises me just how good it is after being on for so long, most show's would be running out of ideas but they have created such great characters where you know all about there lives and their history the can get into any story they are wanting to tell about them, And with Sheldon and Amy possibly ending the season with their wedding and this weeks revelation that Sheldon has through about having children of his own is going to keep people watching for a few more seasons.

masterchef junior.jpg

MasterChef Junior (Fox)

Right first of I can't cook so watching a show where children 4 times younger then me cook food I could only get frim an ordering service make me feel bad. But this show is a great family viewing show the contestant's are great, the judge's are polite to the kid's and even if things don't come out right they don't just tell them off they help them and rightfully so remind them they have made it this far after thousands of kids have tried out for the show.

This weeks double episode was 40 kids try and win a Masterchef apron, They were split into 2 groups Boys and Girls with each group cooking for 1 of 12 aprons. in each round the kids were shown how to cook a specific dish with the best 8 getting the apron and 4 having the leave the competition. leaving 8 kids left to cook again only this time they could cook what ever they wanted and only half getting the apron and the other half leaving.

The brilliance of this show is it doesn't take it's self to seriously, the number of time I laughed at what the kids said to the judge's was fantastic. Now with the 24 contestants chosen I can't want to see what why come up with this season

Chicago Fire 1.jpg

Chicago Fire (NBC)

After taking a 2 week break in order to make way for the winter Olympics Fire house 51 returned to show us if Casey and Severide survived there jump of the top of a burning building.

As part of the #OneChicago franchise I like this show more then the others, that not to say the others are not great in their own right, but this show feels more like a family and has a more well rounded story.

Like with the middle this is a show I go to first whenever I have a new episode to watch but unlike The Middle it's not because I know it will make laugh, This time it's because I want to know what's going to happen to the guys at Firehouse 51 next and that is a mark of a great show that you care about a group of people in a fictional world, and with a crossover with Chicago PD coming soon this will be a show high on my list for some time.
