Tough As Nails is a competition series that celebrates everyday Americans who roll up their sleeves and don't think twice about working long hard hours and getting their hands dirty, in order to keep their country running. Competitors who consider the calluses on their hands a badge of honor will be tested for their strength, endurance, life skills and, most importantly, mental toughness in challenges that take place at real-world job sites.

Welcome to this weeks news. The slow stream of news keeps coming but there are still a few shows I’m still waiting to see if they will be returning next season.

The series follows the employees at Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting firm headed by Dr. Jason Bull, who is a psychologist and trial-science expert. Bull uses his skills and those of his team not only to select the right jurors for his clients, but also to help his clients' lawyers decide which type of argument will win over jurors best. Bull is inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, who also serves as an executive producer.

This week CBS was feeling generous and renewed a hand full of shows but only two of them are ones I watch. They are Bull for its sixth season and Tough As Nails for its third and fourth season’. The others were Blue Bloods, NCIS and S.W.A.T.

As always I will keep my eyes open for any new information and will post about it on Instagram and here in the weekly news update

I Have Been Watching

The Rookie S3 E10 "Man Of Honor"

ABC – Comedy/Crime/Drama

Rookie The Season 3.jpg

This weeks episode was the first one where West & Chen were riding without a training officer. But their first day didn't go as they had been told it would.

In the most recent episode, Noland & Harper were called to a bank robbery in progress, After Noland got close enough to see all the action happening inside the bank. Seeing an opportunity to defuse the situation and get the hostages freed, Noland enters the building and starts to try and bring the conflict to an end.

With only the gunman, Noland and the banks' security officer left Noland. The officer shot the bank robber after he was unwilling to lower his gun. After the shooting, Noland when to pick up his weapon only to discover it was empty. This starts an investigation of why someone would try and rob a bank with a gun not loaded with bullets.

Also, in this episode, Lopez struggled to find a wedding dress that she likes that will also hide her baby bump, so she decides to call in the help of Tim. This leads to him becoming his Man of Honor and is now involved with planning the wedding.

And during West and Chen's first day, they had to keep ice cream from melting as it could be substantial evidence and were called to break up a fight that had started in the same bridal shop that Lopez and Tim were in. With them becoming P2's, both West and Chen's parents had planned a special evening to celebrate or that least that's what Chen thought. But when only her mother comes over, she knew something was up. During the evening, Chen's mother asked when she was going to get a proper job. They had allowed her to train and become an officer, but now she had done that, they thought she would do something else.

This lead nicely to officer west giving Chen a patron saint necklace similar to the one he got from this parents was a show of appreciation.

Bull S5 E11 "Truth and Reconciliation"

CBS – Comedy/Crime/Drama

Bull WL.jpg

This most recent episode of Bull focused on the beginnings of TAC and how the idea started. When a man is put on trial for possible murder, Bull is called to explain eyewitness testimony and how it can be unreliable. During the trial, Bull tries to help the lawyer but is put firmly in his place. This is where the seeds of TAC begin to take place.

So when the son of the convicted murder believes he was wrongly convicted, he called upon the help of Bull and the TAC team. With it being almost 12 years after the first trial, Bull says he would need new evidence to get the case reopened and even then, it would not guarantee a new trial. But luckily, the son has a signed confection from the actual shooter. A contract killer diying as is wanting to confess to all his wrongdoings before he passes away.

During the episode, we see Bull try and convince Marissa to help him predict what way the juries will vote.

At the end of the episode, we get to see the wrongly convicted laundrette owner walk out of prison and see his son along with Bull but not minutes after they are surrounded. The son is taken away in handcuffs will Bull giving him the advice not to say anything until they get there.

This was a great way to end an episode and keep the story going into the next one. Hopefully, they will see how the partnerships with the other TAC employees were formed.

And there we have it. That’s another update done. Just a quick reminder, please don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and if you have enjoyed that I have been doing here and want it to continue, please consider becoming a patron.
