Welcome to this weeks post.

As my regular work schedule is starting to fill up it’s been hard to keep up with my TV shows this past week so I can already see some shows being left behind for me to catch up on whenever there is a free slot.

This week it was been so regular that I have skipped two days of shows as I have been talking about the same shows I needed to give some of them a break just to stop me from repeating myself.

Thank you for returning again and I hope you enjoy the shows I Have Been Watching

News

Renewed - Cancelled - Ordered

Rebel.jpg

Back to what I’m used to. the only piece of news that piqued my interest was that Rebel the new Katey Sagal drama has been picked up by “Star” the more adult section of the Disney Plus streaming service.

Having a curious mind I had a quick look at the current shows available on the Disney Plus app and unsurprisingly it’s all Disney owned ABC shows. At the moment they are missing a few that already have homes on other TV channels but you never know if when a contract is coming up for renewal if Disney pull the plug and just add it “Star” in order to help boost subscribers. Shows like The Good Doctor, The Rooke or even comedy The Goldbergs. We will have to see what the future holds.

Well, that’s all the news this week. I’m still waiting for the avalanche of news to start. hopefully soon.

I Have Been Watching

The Equalizer S1 E6 “The Room Where It Happens”

CBS – Action/Crime/Drama

The Equlizer .jpg

As soon as I had finished watching the first episode of The Equalizer, I had a strong feeling that this show was going to be a favourite of mine, and this weeks episode proved it.

In this most recent episode, Robyn was trying to help a college student who was being threatened by someone. During the episode, we discover that she is volunteering at the office of a local politician. Also, we learn that a private investigator is following her. After she dropped out of college and tried to end her life, her father called in The Equalizer to find out what is troubling Maya and what was causing this sudden change.

In the other storyline during this episode, Robyn is struggling with the knowledge that Delilah’s new friend has recently been released from a juvenile detention centre and is worried she might be a bad influence on her daughter. Just like her mother, Delilah just wants to help her friend when she discovers that her ex-boyfriend is holding a neckless hostage as a way to force the relationship to restart, so the two of them plan to get the neckless back, but ultimately get arrested for breaking and entering.

As this neckless rescue is all going on, Robyn discovers that Maya tried to take her own life because she had sexual encounters with a prominent member of the campaign staff. To keep it quiet, she was being forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

This episode was a great way of showing what can happen to people involved with others with even just a little bit of power. I have been enjoying this series, and I’m so glad it has already been renewed for its second season.

Shameless S11 E11 “The Fickle Lady Is Calling It Quits”

Showtime – Comedy/Drama

Shameless 11.jpg

With Shameless almost at its end, the last remaining episodes are setting up the “what they did next” part of any show perfectly.

In the most recent episode, Lip was still trying to fix up the Gallagher home to sell it so everyone can move on and into new homes, But after discovering that Kevin and V had sold their home to a developer so that they can move to Louisville as they had both managed to be offered jobs there. He contacted the same developer to see if they were interested in buying the Gallagher house.

After finding out that the buys had already bought both Kevin & V’s home and the now-abandoned Milkovich home and wanted to buy three houses in a row to knock them down, a rebuild on the land, seeing an opportunity to leverage the situation, Lip put’s in a higher asking price than what is being offered. Thinking he had the deal done, Lip began to sell the unwanted items inside the house to make even more money. But all his plans go out the window when he is told that his home is no longer needed as the owner on the other side to Kevin and V has taken the original offer and is selling up and moving out.

Meanwhile, Ian and Mickey are trying to adapt to now living on the west side of Chicago. Ian is fitting in well with his new neighbours and all the luxuries that come with the new apartment. Simultaneously, Ian is struggling to get used to the people and the west side’s sound. After spending a few nights back in the southside, Ian agrees to move back to the southside to keep Mickey happy. This touches a nerve with Mickey, so he decides to give the westside another chance but is unwilling to change the way he acts.

Also, in this episode, Debbie is still struggling to deal with the fact that the only home she has ever known is going to be sold and is finding it hard to come to terms that she won’t be living in a dysfunctional home for much longer. After she realised she has trouble keeping a long term relationship, it is all Franks fault, but a chance run-in with a newly released convict that hit it off during a discussion over who has the most dysfunctional upbringing.

This final season is ending the series perfectly, leaving no what if’s behind. I’m looking forwards to seeing the last episode.

Chicago Fire S09 E11 “A Couple Hundred Degrees”

NBC – Action/Drama

Chicaog fire 2021.jpg

Out of the three Chicago shows, I always watch Fire; first, it may be because it was the first, so I’m more invested in the firefighters of Firehouse 51 or because I prefer the action involved with dealing with Fires, anyway this weeks episode had a few good storylines. One involving the paramedics of the firehouse who were called out to a local mini-mart a few times. Each time the store’s owner suddenly collapsing with no explanation as to what had caused it. After receiving a letter saying the first fall was not an accident. They tried to figure out what was going on.

The other storyline for this episode was a trainee firefighter trained by Kelly, who was underperforming and making commonsense mistakes, like after using a thermal imaging camera to find a wrench that had recently been in a scorching oven, he picks it up with his bare hands. This mistake raised concerns that he might not have what it takes to become a firefighter. Still, with him being the son of Chief Gary Mercer and a close personal friend of Chief Boden, he’s giving him another chance to prove himself.

Within this week’s episode, we also got a bit more of the ongoing Casey head injury story. Bret was getting a bit of information from Will regarding him having headaches. This makes her confront Casey about the situation. He tells her he’s feeling better and is no longer having any problems. Later on, Brett tells Casey that she can’t back down from this problem and would regret it if anything happened to him and she had done nothing to prevent it. In the evening inside, Mollys Casey and Brett have a discussion where Vasey thanks her for not backing down and confesses he’s worried that the outcome will be as it could mean he will no longer be a firefighter, so Brett offers to go with him to the doctors to get himself checked over.

And finally, during a training section, the firefighter recruits are challenged to enter a burning building and try to find a couple of dummies used to represent members of the public. After the first two enter the building fully suited up and using their breathing masks, one of the other trainees thinks theirs something wrong with her mask as it has a funny smell. After Kelly check’s it, he discovers that Mercer had filled up the tanks with Carbon Monoxide. After one of the trainee’s exit’s the training building and immediately collapses, Kelly orders Mercer to go and open all the veneration holes and another trainee to go and get help.

After this simple mistake, Kelly has no choice but to kick Mercer from the program and deal with the consequences after.

Rebel S1 E1 “Pilot”

ABC – Crime/Drama

Rebel.jpg

Every time there a new drama, I’m always going to give it a go as you can’t have too many good drama’s and “Rebel” is looking to be a great addition. This show is inspired by the film Erin Brockovich and centres on “Annie Bello,” a legal advocate who is without a law degree.

In the first episode, Annie is trying to get a layer friend to take on a large medical company. She believes they are using a medical device that makes people sicker after they have it instilled in them. One of the ways she tries to take them on is by crashing their shareholders’ annual dinner and confront the company’s CEO. Still, after he tells her where to go, she brings in all the people the company has affected with their device. All the people enter with large signs and shouting about how they feel. Also, in this planned attack, the local media had been informed to get some great footage and have it been headline news.

As planned, Annie gets arrested for the protest. She is soon bailed out from a few friends she has in the right places but not before meeting a woman accused of trying to kill her boyfriend. Annie gives her the number of a lawyer she knows who will help her get this all straightened out.

As the episode progressed, she was more and more determined to get Cruz, her layer friend, to take this critical case. It’s only about halfway into the episode that the reason she’s so invested in this case is that she lost her best friend to the device. The lawyer friend was the husband but was trying to get over her death, not wanting it to be because of a significant medical company.

Meanwhile, the woman Annie meet in the police station had reached out to get help to clear her name and put away her abusive boyfriend. One of Annie’s investigator friends accompanies the woman back to her place to find anything they can get the boyfriend arrested for.

By the end of the episode, Annie had finally got Cruz on board with the case after going door to door to get some of the affected people to come with her to his law office and tell their story.

I can see this show being a significant case running throughout the season and one case per episode. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing; it’s just going to be a juggling act to keep both going with one, not overshadowing the other one.

And there we have it. That’s another update done. Just a quick reminder, please don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and if you have enjoyed that I have been doing here and want it to continue, please consider becoming a patron.

Once again Thanks and goodnight
