This week it was been so regular that I have skipped two days of shows as I have been talking about the same shows I needed to give some of them a break just to stop mefrom repeating myself.

Thank you for returning again and I hope you enjoy the shows I Have Been Watching

I Have Been Watching

The Rookie “Bad Blood”

ABC – Comedy/Crime/Drama

Rookie The Season 3.jpg

After taking a month off, The Rookie returned with another Castle reunion. In this weeks episode, Noland and Harper are tasked with talking to an inmate (Oscar) in prison who might be involved in a kidnapping. After the blood at the crime screen was analyzed, it was discovered that Oscar had a child he doesn’t know about. So most of the first half of the episode was Noland & Harper driving Oscar around LA, talking to girls he had sex with before going to prison.

Also, in the episode, a former enemy from Tim’s past, after the cop car He and Lucy are using, gets tagged with spraypaint. The tag was familiar to Tim as it was the same as one used when he was a rookie. This got under Tim’s skin and the rest of the episode trying to track down the graffiti artist.

A third story running through the episode was about Noland’s Class he is taking to help im progress within the police force. After turning up late for the class and therefore missing an important test, he begs for another chance to take the test. His teacher gives him 24hr’s to solve a case/riddle and return with his answer, and if correct, she will allow him another chance to take the test.

Meanwhile, during the kidnapping case, it’s discovered that Oscars newly discovered offspring is involved in the kidnapping as it she is the girlfriend of the missing person. The whole abduction was planned as a way to get money from his wealthy parents. That is until she is informed that they have cut her out of the plan.

At the end of the episode, Noland just makes it back to see his teacher and deliver his answer to the question she set him the previous day. He ultimately believes there was no correct answer; she just wanted to see what response he thought she wanted to be given.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist “Zoey’s Extraordinary Memory”

NBC - Comedy/Drama/Musical

Zoey's Playlist.jpg

Here is another show that took a month off, but like “The Rookie”, it came back better than ever.

It’s Almost the grand opening of Mo & Max’s new restaurant. All they have to do is pass the fire marshals inspection, which doesn’t go well. They are left with a long list of things they need to fix/change to be given a certificate they need to be allowed to open. It’s going to be close if they will make the nessasery changes to open on time.

In this episode, David is struggling with being a stay at home dad; this is where he gets the first song of the attack, “Drift Away” by Uncle Kracker. This is because Zoey introduces David to Adien and tells him he’s in a band. David is eager to tell Adien he used to be in a college band, so Adien says he should drop by and see the band practice.

But in the main story of the episode, Zoey is trying to find someone how wants to go with her to see a meteor shower. She promised her father they would revisit the next time they came around after everyone is busy, either with a newborn baby or opening a new local hot spot. She is left with Leif and Tobin. During the journey to where Zoey and her father saw the shower last time, Leif kept saying it was the wrong choice and telling Zoey where to get the mentors’ best views. In contrast, Tobin kept saying the whole area was like something out of a scary movie.

Once they arrive at the viewing location, Leif is distracted by a voicemail from Kaia, someone he went on a date with, but before they got their food, she had to leave after finding out her grandmother had died. Just as Tobin says he can see something through the telescope, Leif starts to sing our second song of the episode “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell and by the end of the song, it was too late for Zoey to see the showers and now only has one more day to see them before they go away for another 20+ years.

Back with David. He drops by with baby Miles to see Adien’s band practice and reminds him that he was in a band while at college. After seeing that no one is playing on the keyboard, he plays a little bit, and Adien says he’s always welcome to jam with them. Having to go and change Miles, he promises to return another day and jam out with them. This is where we get a third song in the episode. When David returns to jam with the band, they play “Watermelon Sugar.” By Harry Styles. A piece david is unfamiliar with but says he can figure it out as it goes along.

And near the end of the episode, MaxiMo is almost ready to open. They are just waiting on the final inspection for the fire marshal. With a crowd waiting outside becoming impatient, they are not open yet and that their food would be here before they got inside. Zoeys says she’s going and find out how long it’s going to be. And just after getting inside, Mo returns with the certificate they desperately need so they can open and start letting the wait crown in. But before they open, Max gives the staff a pep talk with some things not to say to the customers. And this where we get the final song of the episode, “Let’s get loud”, by Jenifer Lopez.

In the final scenes of this weeks episode, Zoey, Tobon, Leif, Max, Simon, and Mackenzie drive back to see the meteor shower. Still, when Leif invites Zoey to view the shower before the moment is gone, she says, “seeing you guys have this moment is the moment for me.” This episode was perfectly balanced between story and song, Drama and Comedy and gave everybody enough screen time to get their story across.

Debris “Earthshine”

NBC – Drama/Mystery/Sci-fi

Pip.jpg

Like is have said before, I was looking forward to this series because it was staring someone I have been following for years as they transferred from poet/rapper into a podcaster and now into an actor, But recently he has been only used in brief scenes. Still, this week it was looking like he and his gang were going to get a lot more TV time.

This weeks episode started with a bus that managed to drive through a possible wormhole. So when the team were called upon to see what had happened, they soon discovered that it was the work of INFlUX, who was using a piece of debris to try and make a large area of Manhatten disappear.

After the team discover they have been using late metal structures as conductors to amplify the effects of the piece of debris, they have the team narrow down where INFLUX must have put it, assuming they would use a skyscraper with the most metal within it. The team split into three groups to quickly check the three buildings most likely to have the debris inside. Finola gets to her skyscraper first and interrupts INGLUX’s plan, who now have to make a run for it. They left part of the debris behind to continue the attack from another location within the city. The gang use small pieces of debris to “Jump” from one place to another instantaneously. After Anson was captured, the signs of another wormhole began. It was down to Bryan to deactivate his part of the debris and stop Manhattan from completely disappearing.

This episode was terrific. It keeps the season story moving along and also told a single episode story perfectly and with Anson now in the hands of the authority, and should make for interesting episodes going forward.

Manifest “Tailfin”

NBC -    Drama/Mystery/Sci-fi

Manifest.jpg

This week was the return of Manifest. It’s a show I have been looking forward to as its second season’s final episode was excellent. I was so happy it got a third season as the premise was interesting and could go anywhere.

So in the return episode, Ben is in Cuba trying to track down the tailfin from flight 828 that is believed to have been discovered by local fishermen. After asking around, Ben find the boat believed to be the one used to store the tailfin. After meeting the ship’s owners and offering them a large amount of money in exchange for the plane’s tailfin.

During the inspection of the tailfin, Ben places his hand on it, and it causes him to fly back all in plain view of a local child filming it on his smartphone. When the local police try to see what a group of children are looking at, they see the video of Ben being forced back into the air away from flight 828’s tailfin. After securing the tailfin and trying to get it out of the country, Ben, along with Vance, travel to a nearby airport on a truck transporting the tailfin to do more research when they arrive back in the US.

During this episode, Michaela, Ban & Cal had a calling stronger than any they have had recently. They all saw another passenger from flight 828 who after returning found it hard to integrate back into the world. Her religious parents thought she had strayed away from god and locked her in their basement, leading to Michaela and Zeke hatching a plan so Michaela can rescue her and bring her back to the US to be with people who understand what she is going through.

Also, in this weeks episode, we get to see Saanvi dealing with the fact she cursed the death of “Major” after posing her and only administering the antidote when she gave up critical information.

With all the story elements used within this episode, I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen this season. Hopefully, they have a plan in place if they don’t get a fourth season.

And there we have it. That’s another update done. Just a quick reminder, please don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and if you have enjoyed that I have been doing here and want it to continue, please consider becoming a patron.

Once again Thanks and goodnight
