As I’m back to my regular work schedule I have been a bit behind on my viewing but I’m getting used to being back to work so can start planning my evening better.

I Have Been Watching

The Resident S4 E10 “Into The Unknown”

Fox- Drama

This weeks episode of The Resident was centred around Mina & AJ getting ready to start a new life in Nigeria, But not before one last shift at the hospital. Throughout the episode, Mina tried not to get sentimental about leaving all her friends and colleges behind. Mina offers to perform surgery on AJ mother after she began coughing up blood. It was discovered she has a tumour in her lungs.

It’s later discovered that AJ mother has cancer, and it’s so advanced there is nothing they can do about it. The news is difficult for Mina to take, but she has to hold it in after a surprise party to say goodbye and wish her luck. After telling AJ about his mother, Mina tells AJ to stay at home and spend the remaining time she has left.

Also, Cain is continuing his recovery within this episode by practising an operation in an operating room. After stubbornly believing he’s ready to return and begin operating again. Still, after Kit discovers this, she tells Cain that she will be scrubbing in for his first surgery back just to reassure her that he’s ready to come back. Nearing the end of the operation, Kit is called away, and things don’t go as planned, and Cain Billie takes over and finish the procedure.

Whenever someone decides to leave a show, it’s always going to be challenging to write someone off the show, but this has been done amazingly. By not doing it quickly but by taking a few episodes and adding in the chance, she may not get deported added to the story. It’s also good to see they have left it open for Mina to return if she wants to.

Bob Heart Abishola S2 E15 “TLC: Tunde’s Loving Care“

CBS - Comedy/Romance

In this most recent episode of “Bob Hearts Abishola.” We get to know a little bit more about Gloria and how she became a nurse. His all begins when Abishola makes an off the cuff remark that Gloria does not have to same work ethic that Nigerians do. Gloria is offended by this and want’s to ignore Abishola until she gives her a gift and asks how she became a nurse.

The other storyline in this weeks episode was that when Bob’s dishwasher starts leaking, Tunde comes over to make Bob fix it himself and not “Call a guy.” This soon became a spectator sport with everyone excited to see Bob doing his best to fix something he knows nothing about.

This episode did not have a lot going on, but it was perfect at telling the story they wanted to. I still look forward to watching this show each week and glad it had been renewed for another season. The plan for Dele to spend his summer with his father back in Nigeria will make the first few episodes of next season enjoyable.

The Goldbergs “Daddy Daughter Day 2”

ABC - Comedy

This week’s Goldbergs had two main stories, The first being Senior School Prank day. Adam and his friends have to come up with a school prank that will go down in history. Their first idea was to dress up the school statue to look like David Bowie, complete with lightning bolt face paint.

The plan seemed perfect until Principal Ball told them the statue was off-limits and was taken away to put in a locked room within the school. The group still wanted to do something with the statue but needed a set of keys to get into the school after hours, so they turn to Barry to get hold of Beverly’s key’s so they can get back the statue and finish off the prank.

It was all going to plan until Adam gets court retrieving the keys from Beverly’s handbag and has to come up with an excuse on the fly. The only reason he can make it is he wants to surprise her with a mother-son prank and put up banners in the school saying Adam love’s his Mom. Still, after a few days, Adams guilty and good boy image gets the better of him. He tells Beverly why he really needed the keys to the school. Because his friends knew he would spill the beans of the plan to Bowie up the school statue, they planned another prank behind his back, and that was to release some farm animals into the school.

The other story from this weeks episode was the continuation of the break up of Erica and Geoff. Because she is so unhappy, Murry plans another “Daddy Daughter Day.” Complete with rollerskating and arcade grabbing machine. But after that doesn’t make her any better, he begins to listen to what is getting her down; this begins the make Arica feel a little better and brings her closer to her father.

B. Positive S1 E16 “A Cute Asphyxiation“

CBS - Comedy/Drama

As we get closer to the end of this season, B. Positive is still hoping it’s one of the lucky ones and gets renewed for a second season.

In this weeks episode, Gina has to tell Drew that her boyfriend/ his best friend Eli is broke as at the end of a fancy meal, Eli insists on paying for the night. This leads Drew to tell the rest of the dialysis group Eli’s money problems and, they plan to buy his Superbowl ring he is selling on eBay so he can keep it, But after being given back his ring, he is upset that everyone knows his problems and wants to spend some time apart from Gina.

Continuing the story that started last week, Drew and his girlfriend are finding it hard to sync their calendars so that they can spend time together. They each have different treatment days and different recovery times, so when Adriana tells Drew she doesn’t want him around after her subsequent chemo treatment and does not listen to her, they fall out and Drew has to find a way to make it up to her.

By the end of the episode, Drew had apologised to Adriana and promised to listen to her in the future. Gina told Eli how sorry she was about everyone knowing he was having money problems, and he told her he had a plan the turn things around. He and a former player was starting a podcast about their time in the NFL.
