Season 1 Episode 5

It's another update and another great week of TV With a preview episode of A.P. Bio and the start of Celebrity Big Brother and the final episode of Better late than never season 2.  So lets get into it.

Chicago Med.jpg

Chicago MED (NBC)

The fact that there are 4 show's based around hospitals shows how much love there is for this type of show. We have NBC's Chicago Med, Fox's The Resident, ABC's The Good Doctor and CBS's Code black. What makes this show better than the others is it's realism and that it's not afraid to tackle hard subjects, also it helps it's part of a very successful franchise and can help create 3 day crossover events.

The current story line's have been great starting with Dr Charles Chief of Psychiatry being shot outside the hospital and then having Reese his Psychiatry resident feel most afraid after woods.

In this episode they had to deal with a range of problems from a woman giving birth way to early and having to decide it the doctor's show try and keep the child alive or not  all the way to help a girl how ran away from home find a new home away.

If you want to start or re-watch this great medical drama you can grab season one now for the below like provided

A.P. Bio.jpg

A.P. Bio (NBC)

Having only seen the preview episode I am waiting to see more episodes before I pass judgement but from what I have seen I can see what they are trying to do. After watching the episode I can't help seeing similarity's with the Jack Black film School Of Rock.

This show is about a Harvard professor who did not get his dream job so now has to work at a high school teaching Advanced Placement Biology which he is reluctant to do, So instead is using his class to try and take down his nemesis who got the job he was hopping for.

The fact he is doing all this behind the principles back is what to me give's it the School Of Rock feel. This show's most difficult part is going to be balancing the students problems with his own.

Celebrity Big Brother (CBS)

For the very first time in US Big Brother history they have opened one of the most famous house's in America to a group of celebrity's.
in this shortened version of the summer staple Celebrities compete in challenges and try to avoid being voted out of the house by their fellow housemates. A celebrity version of big brother has been going since 2001 where it was part of a charity fundraising event called Red Nose Day. Only 6 celebs entered the house and lasted only 8 days buy was so successful it returned the next year for a longer series and it as grown to 2 seasons a year along with a regular Big Brother series each year.

The most important thing about this version is it's exactly the same as the regular show only speed up so it it's not on for as long. The Celebs are still filmed all the time, there is nowhere to hide, all conversations are recorded and all tasked are just the same. The contestants for this season include UFC legend Chuck Liddell, Omarosa Manigault a former white house aid and Ariadna Gutiérrez a miss universe runner-up.

I am hoping this season has great rating's and makes the celebs look good so that when it come's back next year they can try and get bigger name's and if they can get people more internationally know it might help sell the show to other country's

Grown-ish.jpg

Grown-ish (Freeform)

With a very successful and culturally important show like Black-ish it can be hard when one off the main character's is heading off the college. so the best thing to do is create a spin-off focusing on the struggles of college life.

After 3 seasons of Black-ish Zoey Johnson has finished High school and heading off to college and in the new Freeform show we see what it's like to be a collage student in this day and age. From keeping up to date with course work, social life and having a collage basketball boyfriend. what makes this show so great is that it's not making out that all young peoples problem's are not important ("Are you up"). The show has done so well for TV network Freeform it's their highest rated comedy debut in the channels history and because of that it was no surprise they renewed it for a second season so quickly.

Another interesting thing is that all the episode titles are taken from song's like
Late Registration - Kanye west
C.R.E.A.M - Wu tang clan
Starboy - The Weeknd

Better late than never.jpg

Better Late Than Never (NBC)

For anyone familiar with UK travel doc's you should know a show by the BBC called "The real marigold hotel" where a group of famous retired celebrates take a trip to see if you can retire and live in India.
It became so successful it created a spin-off where they when to different place's around to world t see how the older population deal with getting old. it's a great way of showing how older people live in different place's and like most shows if it works in one country it's inevitable that another network will try there own version and so we have. Better Late Than Never where William Shatner, Henry Winkler, George Foreman & Terry Bradshaw Travel to Asia (season 1) Europe (season 2) and see the famous landmarks and try the local food's.

This show is just a great easy watch. This show has some great comedy moments and shows how much the four guys get along and are not afraid to make a fool of themselves. It's also nice to see they are not making fun of the locals and there way of living.

Bull.jpg

Bull (CBS)

Bull is still one of the shows I pick to watch first as each episode tells the story brilliantly and does not get to muddled up in the details and makes this show great to follow along with. It's a great uses of all the stranded Police Procedurals without any real police work going on
