Welcome back to another week of TV viewing and as the current season is just over half way done and with new news starting it's the time I enjoy the most as we get the great current shows returning and a group of new shows are vying for my TV time.

As is now traditional we start with the news then we move into a selection of shows I have watched in the last seven days.

Renewed - Cancelled - Pick-up - Full order - ended

Most networks like to save their renewals until near the end of the season but this week CBS renewed F.B.I , Magnum P.I. and The Neighbourhood and Suits was renewed for a final season. Lets see in the next few weeks what shows get another year or which ones are cancelled.

Tired of cookie-cutter law school grads, Harvey takes a gamble by hiring Mike on the spot after he recognizes his raw talent and photographic memory. Mike and Harvey are a winning team. Even though Mike is a genius, he still has a lot to learn about law. And while Harvey may seem like an emotionless, cold-blooded shark, Mike's sympathy and concern for their cases and clients will help remind Harvey why he went into law in the first place. Mike's other allies in the office include the firm's best paralegal Rachel and Harvey's no-nonsense assistant Donna to help him serve justice. Proving to be an irrepressible duo and invaluable to the practice, Mike and Harvey must keep their secret from everyone including managing partner Jessica and Harvey's arch nemesis Louis, who seems intent on making Mike's life as ...

The Neighbourhood

The Neighborhood stars Cedric the Entertainer in a comedy about what happens when the friendliest guy in the Midwest moves his family to a neighborhood in Los Angeles where not everyone looks like him or appreciates his extreme neighborliness. Dave Johnson is a good-natured, professional conflict negotiator. When his wife, Gemma, gets a job as a school principal in L.A., they move from Michigan with their young son, Grover, unfazed that their new dream home is located in a community quite different from their small town. Their opinionated next-door neighbor, Calvin Butler, is wary of the newcomers, certain that the Johnsons will disrupt the culture on the block. However, Calvin's gracious wife, Tina, rolls out the welcome wagon; their chipper younger son, Marty, thinks the Johnsons could be good for the community; and their unemployed older son, Malcolm, finds Dave may finally be someone who understands him. Dave realizes that fitting into their new community is more complex than he expected, but if he can find a way to connect with Calvin, they have an excellent chance of making their new neighborhood their home.

Black-ish: Black Like Us

Being behind on a show normally means I wait until have a few episodes to watch and spend a few hours catching up but after seeing a lot of posts about this recent episode of Black-ish I had to see why everyone was posting about it.

One of the reasons I love Black-ish is that it takes difficult subjects and makes them understandable for people that it does nit effect, like this weeks story of Diane nit being lit properly in her class photo making it hard to see her in it. This then triggers a discussion in colourism within the black community with darker skined black people having it harder than lighter skinned black people.

Unlike some shows, Black-ish also adds the history of the topic so you can see where it started and why it's important and maybe why it's unspoken.

As this is a comedy, they have to add a few comedy elements to the episode and a recurring joke as that Rainbow was going to go down to the school and start a fight with the school principal.

While this is happening Jack is trying to keep is attendance record clean so he can get a decent mention in the school yearbook and this also helps keep the show from feeling like a school lesson.

Bull red logo.jpg

Bull: Split hairs

Bull is one of those shows that keeps coming up with stories that I have not seen in similar shows and this weeks story was fascinating, It centred around the chief medical examiner who is accused of evidence tampering on a previous case after she stayed late at work to double check a body the make sure they did not miss anything. What was smart as the have the medical officer adamant that she did nothing wrong and was not willing to say otherwise.

After going over all the evidence from the case Bull and Benny go and see the opposition in jail and can't believe how he looks like he does not care if he wins the case or not. This starts the question of why this case was reopened. Most shows you can see the end coming but this weeks episode had me guessing from the very beginning to right near the end.

Celeb Big Brother 2019.jpg

Celebrity Big Brother: Season 2

After a successful first season, it's great to see it return for a new season.

If you don't know, I love Big Brother and was happy last year then they stared a Celeb version and much like this season I only know a few of the contestants but what's great about this show is that it's about their personalities and not what makes them celebs.

In the first of a double episode event, the contestants had to pair up for a challenge to find the first power couple with one of them becoming Head Of Household.

I can't wait to see this season unfold and get to know the celebrities and all the twists Big Brother has to offer

Rookie, The .jpg

The Rookie: Redwood

This week's episode saw a sudden visit by the vice president all the recruits were called into the station to help keep him safe as he travels around the city. The three rookies are assigned different takes, but after one is struck by a needle when they were moving homeless people away from the sidewalk so they could close the road off, she has the spend the rest of the shift in the hospital waiting on the results of the medical tests.

The episode picks up the pace then the rookies have to ask a block of flats to take down posters against the vice president, and it turns into a firefight.

After Castle ended I was worried, Nathan Fillion would not find a show suited to his comedic style, but this show looks like it was written with him in mind.

With the way this show is going, I can see it getting another season and would love to see the show last long enough that the roles are reversed and the recruits become the trainers for new recruits.

Suits: Rocky 8

As suits continued its current season, the news was reported that it was renewed for its last season. It may be sad that a show this good is coming to an end, but I'm happy that they have advanced warning and can plan the final season not to leave any story's left untold.

At the end of part 1 of the current season, the team was divided and needed a new leader of the firm and Louis steps up the take the lead.

In the most recent episode, Harvey and Robert worked together to take on a case with a personal connection. With both Mike and Rachel leaving the firm last season and Jessica moving to Chicago (to start a new spin-off)

It is always challenging to keep the show worth watching but even with three main cast members leaving. This show is still very well written and acted, and I can't wait to see who this is all going to end.

The masked Singer

For a lot of shows, it's not normal for me to google about them after I have seen only a few episodes, but The Masked Singer had me guessing, and with them having great social media it's easy to find people who are playing along and want to discuss who might be under the mask's.

What is different about this show is that not all contestants sing each week. This helps keep the clues as to who they are to a minimum

and not making it too easy to finger out who it is

Thank you for getting to the end and I hope you enjoyed it and will come back next week for the latest News and to see what
