Season 2 Episode 7: Anything good is not shown on a Satuday

Welcome to Episode 7 of my second season in the crazy world of TV.
I say this every year but I already have a full list of shows I am behind on that will take up most of my time this summer and with some shows I am just going to not even try and catch up but just wait until the end of the season and plan my viewing for the summer.

I Have Been Watching

Goldburgs 2018.jpg

The Goldbergs: Major League

With a show into its sixth season, it is starting to feel like they are close to running out of stories to tell, or pop culture references and with cast members leaving to star in the spin-off but then an episode like this weeks comes along and feels me with hope this show can last another six seasons.

This weeks episode was centred on the idea that they wanted the school baseball team to become so bad that the funding can be spent elsewhere within the school. But after the new baseball team discover they are only on the side to lose they put a plan into place to make the team better.

The other story of the ep is that Erica is a bad influence on Geoff after they went away for the weekend and the family car went off the edge of the cliff.

This is a show I have loved from the very beginning and never falls the leave me happy.

The Big Bang Theory.jpg

The Big Bang Theory: The Meteorite Manifestation

With Big Bang coming to an end very soon I can start to see things being tidied up nicely. Like Stuart finding someone, he can date and Raj maybe finding love.

In this weeks episode, Howard and Bernadette were having problems with a new neighbour who had put up floodlights that were coming one every time they wanted to use their hot tub, so after telling the group their problems at the council offices, Sheldon quickly offered to get this sorted. But after looking at the issue, he also discovered that their deck and bathroom extension did not have planning permission.

After thinking about it, Sheldon was going to report Howard and Bernadette for what they had done but decided not to and got the neighbour into trouble and have to take down the floodlights and deck.

Meanwhile, Raj was asked by Bert to look into a new meteorite that has a weird signature after a scan; this makes Leonard jealous as the way Bert and Raj are planning to cut open the rock is not as effective as the way, Leonard was suggesting.

It's going to be weird without Big Bang this September, but it's going to be great to see their story come to a clear conclusion.

Suits: Whale Hunt

With Suits getting a lot more attention after Megan Markel became a member of the UK royal family and people wanting to check out where she came from. It could be easy for the show to suffer under the pressure of the bigger audience and with the show being renewed for one final season and by knowing they have a definite end, you can plan the storylines, so no loose ends are left behind.

The current storyline taking most of the episodes time is the story of Lousie becoming the firm leader. This week he asked Harvey to go and get a potential new client to help show the law firm world they are still the best law firm in the city, But after discovering he had not got the job done he decided to take over and tried to beat him in a poker tournament. But when Harvey went against Lousie and joined them in the competition and when it can down to the two of them Harvey tried to show Lousie how he was using the game to win over the potential client.

Also, Alex asked Samanther to help his wife in a case she has wanted to do for a few years and wanted to stay out of it. But after Samanther tries to take the case to court with the potential to win more money for the clients but also lose the money already one the table, After Alex as is asked his opinion he has to try and convince Samanther she should take the offer given as 15 thousand dollars is a lot of money to people how have nothing.

Schooled.jpg

Schooled: I, Mellor

For a spin-off show to stand out with its own voice and still feel part of the same world as it's originators.

This weeks coach Mellor started coaching the Mathletes to finally win the math olympiad but his coaching style is not what the team is used to and after they start losing because Mellor is removed as coach and Liz is put back in charge coach Mellor come back to save the day.

As well as the coach Mellor story we also got the see Lainey help C.B deal with the problem student and they started showing each other what they were like into high school.

24 hours to hell and back.jpg

24hrs to Hell and back: Stone's Throw

For a show that has gotten a lot of stick for being too similar to his previous show Kitchen Nightmares but with that show not solely produced by Gordan Ramsay's production, i can see why he wanted to go out on his own and have complete control.

There's not a lot to say about this weeks episode as they are all very similar, but even with that I still love the way this show is shot and always fly by and feel shorter then the just under 1hr time slot it's given.

New Phototastic Collage.jpg

Gold Rush: Broken Bones

This weeks episode saw Parker is still on track to get to his sesson goal but after a boating accident saw Parker's boat land on Mitch and left him with a broken arm, and this makes parker hideaway for some time, and this makes a few of his guys quit and leave. But after was great words from Chris he returns to one of this best season cleanups in a long time.

Also this week Tony started to put his second dredge back together after spending almost two seasons getting it down to his claim, but having three wash plants going at the same time he his doing all he can to try and beat Parker.

Meanwhile new mine boss Rick is struggling to produce enough gold to make the season worthwhile.

For a show about gold mining, it still astounds me that so many people me included wanting to watch the going on in a small part of Alaska, and with spin-off (Parkers trail and White Water) also being a great watch I hope this show can run for many more seasons and maybe have international version somewhere if only to see different ways of gold mining.

Hells Kitchen: What's your Motto?

As is always evident love a great competition show like Hells Kitchen and this season has been one of it's best as this season past contestants are going up against newcomers, and we are down to the final four. For most shows, you can see the winner already, but with the surprise ending of this weeks episode, I still don't know who is going to win.

So in this weeks episode, each of the chefs had to prepare a tableside dish to impress a room full of LA chefs to win a much needed day out of the kitchen. Later on, in dinner service, each of the competing chefs was given a chance to run the pass and make sure the kitchen ran smoothly and did not make any mistakes. This is a new standard task near the final episodes and is always great to see if the contestants are going to go over the top and get a power complex. What makes this task harder is that mistakes are made on purpose by chef Ramsay sous chefs to test there abilities to run a busy kitchen.

At the end of service, Ramsay asked each of them to pick one chef they believe does not deserve to be in the running for the position of head chef at Gordon's new restaurant in Las Vega. During the discussion on who they are voting for Motto offers himself up as he believes he can help grow and elevate the food scene in this home town.

For a show so cut throat it's great to see the other chefs understand his decision entirely and even make sure it's not a snap chose and when he told Gordon what and why he was leaving he was told that when he was ready to step up to call him.

As much as people think Gordon Ramsay is a hard, uncaring man but you have to look at this scene and also what he does on Junior Masterchef and you know he does it out of love and wants people to do there best.

Once again thank you for coming back and getting to then end of this weeks post, don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
