Manifest: Pilot
The Manifest trailer made the show out to be all about the mystery of a group of passengers on a flight go missing for five years and not know a thing about it, age at all or feel anything. But after watching the pilot episode this week, the show looks to have a lot more up its sleeve.
It's good they are sticking with the flight mystery but also have at the moment just some of the passengers start getting funny feelings and start to hear voices in their head. Also, it's good that some of the passenger's paths are still crossing, and it's not just 4-5 stories being played out independently. After watching just the first episode, I can see it doing well for this season but am struggling to see it a few seasons in.
Manifest will have a lot to do as it has good competition from the likes of The Good Doctor on ABC and Bull on CBS both of which I also watch. And in all honesty out of the three I would choose to see Bull first then maybe Manifest followed by The Good Doctor, And that's just the shows in the same time slot. If you look at shows on the same night, it only makes Manifests job harder. I just hope people are as intrigued by the story as I am.

FBI: Pilot
If I see the name Dick Wolf associated with a new show, I always have high hopes for it. He has a brilliant track record in the world of television. He's the mind behind the Chicago franchise (Fire, PD, Med) and the Law and order shows. So when CBS picked up a show about an FBI department based in New York, it had a high bar to reach. From the pilot, I can see the Wolfs style all over it. The opening episode help introduce the main cast exceptionally well but also told a great story neath one overshadowed the other. In the episode followed the FBI after a building blew up.
With FBI one of two New shows starting the same night and it already being a tough night with the likes of This Is Us and Lethal Weapon I hope it can find the right audience, it's lucky they are on a network that does this type of show well.

Chicago Fire: Going to war
This year NBC is being brave and putting all three Chicago Show on the same night, and the benefit of this is they can move the three shows around the help tell the best crossover story they can.
In the season's first crossover event the Fire team have to tackle a blaze in a high skyscraper. Knowing this was a crossover I was trying to see how the Med and PD teams were going to be involved and it was not as far-fetched as it could have been. In the second hour of the crossover, we watched the Med team help save Stella from lack of oxygen. After that, the story shifted to focus on why the fire started, and that's how the PD team were involved.
If this is the level of storytelling they are producing I can see this being the best year for the Chicago shows.

A Million Little Things : Pilot
It seems every season there is one show designed to make you cry and this year it turns to A Million Little Things,
For a show like this, it can be hard to introduce all the main cast and their backstory. What's smart about this shows is they can use a funeral to tell how they all know each other.
The first episode was the group come together after one of the took his own life. What has this show high on my fave for 2018 list is that every character has his or her problem. From one recovering from breast cancer to another one almost committing suicide stopping only because he finds out this friend has been found dead.

The Good Place: Everything Is Bonzer!
The Good Place is the show everyone is talking about, And rightly so it's got some of the best cast of any show currently on TV and also keep you guessing with all the twists.
At the end of the last season, the four main cast were allowed to return to earth and survive death to see if that near-death experience would change the way they live their lives and if that changed there entry score needed to gain entry into The Good Place.
In the opening episode of this season, Michael returned to earth to try and get the four back together in hopes they can help each other become better people.
Even if this whole season is going to be placed on earth, I can't see that harming the show in any way. it could also add another level to the series and keep it feeling fresh and keep fans coming back.

Murphy Brown: Fake News
After last airing in 1998, Murphy Brown is back during one of the politically charged times in US history.
I had not heard of or seen any of the previous seasons of Murphy Brown, but after doing a bit of research, I was looking forward to seeing how this show would use the current situation and from the first episode it was clear they know what they are doing. From the introduction of social media editor which made the interaction via Twitter with Donald Trump so much funnier.
In another story, it was great to add a show rival from another network and that person being Murphy's son.
It's been a long time since a show has used current affairs in this way and I is a big help that it's not got similar competition. If you are looking for a great 30mins of TV, this is the show I would recommend
